Ithaca College Women's Track and Field
During this semester I have been competing with the Women's Track and Field team. As busy as I have been all semester I wouldn't have changed this new experience for the world. Starting out with no experience in the beginning I ended my indoor season with long jumping at my first Liberty Leagues where I finished in 8th place and a PR of 5.17. The fun and new experiences I have had with this team is incredibly, and I can't wait for many more.

Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County
During this semester, as part of the Women's Track and Field team. Some of my teammates and I volunteered some of our time at Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County during our winter break. Loaves & Fishes is an amazing program that cooks and serves hot free meals to those who need it. I spent my volunteer time serving food, cleaning, and packaging food to save at the end of the day. With wearing a hat being required I made sure to wear my Phillies hat.

SLI #1
Fuel Your Body and Mind Through Food: Leading Self
As a student athlete it can sometimes be difficult to figure out way to properly fuel your body. With that in mind I attended this SLI. During it we played a Kahoot to earn prizes. I learned about the important foods that help provide you with energy like carbs and proteins. I also learned how important getting vitamin C is when you're stressed. Your body copes with stress by using vitamin C and magnesium. I also learned of the app Sanvello that can help you track your nutrition, such as water intake and amount of exercise.

SLI #2

In this SLI we spent our time discussing how peoples different social identities and political identities come together to create different from of discrimination along with the privileges that come from certain identities. This SLI also emphasized on the fact that we can take actions to include others who may come from different backgrounds. We also discussed how we should be attempting to understand inequalities and the disadvantages of others and understanding that everyone is different.

SLI #3
Conflict Management: Leading Others
In this SLI we took quick quizzes to find out what conflict management style we mostly used. My dominant style was the accommodating teddy bear. Meaning that I tend to use cooperation as the way I tend to lead others in group settings. With discovering that we also discussed the pro and cons of our styles. Through this SLI I was able to recognize my style and think of the ways that I can use it to my advantage and help the people around me. My group decided to view conflict as an opportunity to grow and see other perspectives rather than a challenge to be overcome.
